Xbox One At what point in time do you think the Xbox One will stop selling out?

I hadn't thought about the games having that much of an impact on sales, but that's a fair point. I suppose that's the point of next-gen exclusives, after all. The only console I've ever bought because of an exclusive game was the original Xbox because of Halo, but aside from that I'd rather have a selection of games than one or two good ones. I prefer to wait until the games drop in price, too, and not just the console itself.

Yeah I agree that Titanfall will sell some consoles, especially if the game continues to look like tons of fun. If I hadn't gotten one at launch I definitely would have gotten one for this game.

Supposedly if you keep a close eye on Amazon you can get one. They have stock, just not for very long.

Not including special sales and price drops, necessarily. To be clear, I'm not asking where to buy one; I know there's already a thread for that. What I'm asking is when people think the Xbox One won't be in such high demand that it will be out of stock online and in stores. I'm generally wondering about online since it's a lot easier to get than in the store (in terms of the fact that you don't have to leave your home). Plus, how are you supposed to know when stores are getting things in stock? Even if you ask, can you really trust their judgment?

Do you think the price will drop before retailers stop selling out of consoles? I know that the point of price drops is to move more product, but you never really know what they're doing nowadays.

I think it'll be a lot easier to get your hands on a console after the first of the year. As for price drops, I'd be surprised to see one before this time next year at the earliest.

Th only thing that may extend the rarity of finding a console will be the launch of Titanfall. If the hype is justified then it will be a system seller.

Prices will drop after the holidays, but I doubt that the console will sell out in two years. It may go more than that, judging from the huge success of Xbox One.

Agreed. There's still a lot to go, so I'm sure there's still going to be a steady supply. Unless of course if there are any unexpected things to happen along the way. With new games coming out next year, Microsoft got to do their best not sell out before they come out.

Just read on Cnet this morning a poster responding to Xbox One news that he and his wife were able to get one from Costco. Apparently, they received a skid of systems and they were able to get one as they were bringing them out. May want to try at a big warehouse store like Cosco, BJs or Sam's Club.

Once the holidays die down it'll be really easy to find a console. But for now it's gonna be pretty crazy if you don't think outside the box of where you can get one. Everyone is going to places like Amazon, Bestbuy, Gamestop (or whatever gamestore they have), and Walmart. But I think it's been said plenty of times that you can find consoles at Costco, or Sam's Club.

Every time the stock sells out, there are then that many people with the system who no longer need to compete for it, and soon that mass will reach such a point that the stock shipments may sell out every week or two. You can manage to get your hands on a console well before that, actually, and right after the holidays is always a good bet. As for when it will absolutely stop selling out faster than it can be restocked completely, that may very well be a few months to a little over a year. It can often be hard to find -any- popular item during this time of year, but any other time you will probably be in luck.

I think they're milking it at this point. They're doing it so that stocks are doing good, they get headlines throughout the coming year and years to come because they limit the amount of consoles available.

I saw a good bunch of Xbox Ones and PS4s at a local Walmart today. Saw some Xbox Ones at a Target last week.

Oh well. Like I said on the previous post. I think the sales will really go out after 2 or 3 years. Judging from the success from the release of the console it may take at least that amount of time before it dies down. Well the games will eventually sell out more.

All we just need to see is some good, good games and the consoles will go through another whirl of sales. But yeah, I think it'll take 2 or 3, like knives says. So far, in my country, Filipinos have been going for the PS4 more than the Xbox One (I see the Xbox One being shown on shelves). And yup, you've probably heard, the PS4 has been sold out a lot in the rest of the Asian countries such as South Korea. Let's see after the holidays.
