Beyond Good & Evil 2 'not possible' before Xbox One, PS4 | Games industry news | MCV

Highly acclaimed Ubisoft developer Michel Ancel has now confirmed that the reason there was never a sequel to the critically acclaimed Beyond Good & Evil on current gen consoles is because they simply couldn't handle it. He now says that with the next gen of consoles incoming, a sequel is now possible since they will be able to handle to supposed scale of the game. Still, there is no word on whether or not the game will even be released.

That sounds promising, if not extremely ambiguous. Having an idea for a game is one thing; actually making the game takes a lot of time and effort. But if it is going to happen, and they do have a good idea of what it would be like, then there's a good chance that they'll actually make it. I don't know why Ancel would even talk about it if there wasn't at least some intent on actually making it eventually.
