I have an XBox 360 E that I bought 10 years ago for my grandkids to play when they come visit. (yes, I'm an OLD fart)
Since they now only come at Christmas, I'd like to connect the console to my 32" Dell monitor. It has DP that's connected to my PC and a couple of unused HDMI ports. The problem is getting sound...I'd like to connect the console to a decent pair of headphones, (my normal headphones are Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro 250 ohm) so I'd have to connect from the console to my FiiO K5 Pro DAC/amp to power them. Can I connect the component cable 3.5mm jack to the A/V port on the back of the console and the red/white RCA jacks to the input side of the amp? I tried just a pair of headphones to that A/V jack...nothing. Couldn't switch the audio output in Settings.
If it can't be done...it can't be done, but since this thing just sits collecting dust for 51 weeks out of the year...I'd like to try.
I'd also love to be able to use keyboard and mouse instead of the controllers...
Thanks.
Just an update. Got it working. Used the included component cable to connect to my FiiO DAC/amp, got audio out. Video resolution is kind of crappy...had to settle for 1080p on a 2560x1440 monitor...but I can live with that. (now if I can only figure out the silly little joysticks on the controllers)
