Xbox One China temporarily lifts ban on consoles

But who knows? Remember that Apple purchased a major company there in China. This would mean that Apple has the capability to sell their major products without being taken out by the pirates. So Sony and Nintendo may try somehting like that too. We'll see.

Well the possibility is quite slim, but hey like you said, who knows right?

We'll see what they got planned to stop the piracy. This finally makes marketing easy so maybe Sony and Nintendo and Microsoft have something planned. I'm interested how they can entice gamers in China to buy from them instead of buying the pirated versions. I mean, many will say it's expensive to buy the official consoles but look what happened everywhere in the world: people still buy despite the price. This is going to be a shift in China's market culture. Can the official companies make it happen? We shall see about that.

So true, they have a lot of gadgets, bags, clothes and even shoes that have been pirated. I remember when I was in China last year I saw an apple computer but the logo was an apple with a worm on it.

Sentences like this is when we need a laughing smiley, tell you what.

Hahahahaha. True man, true. But at the same time, it's true. In some Asian countries, the fake prodcuts do in fact imitate the real logos but add some elements that really indicate they're fake. I've seen a few and it makes laugh and then sad at the same time.

Exactly. Until then, well, China's still has to deal with their piracy problems. At least now official products are available in China. Won't be long before gamers in China finally be like us and start buying officially.

What sort of barbaric country deprives their citizens from engaging in gaming? It's ironic how I've seen consoles with 'made in China' engraved upon them.

I know right? The irony is just right there. Yeesh, and I thought other things were worse. Still, this is good news. Yup, some make points that the piracy is still going on but now, it changes everything. Slowly but surely, the official product is about to rise in China. We'll see how it goes from here. But man, over a decade for Chinese gamers to wait.

Well, it's already lifted. Let's just see what the market will do. Piracy is there but yes, it changes everything. It's almost like what's happened in my country, the Philippines: it was all about the pirated products but slowly, more and more people are going original. Yup, when I'm going to the game stores here, I almost always see somebody buying a new console or handheld. I never saw that happen back in the early 2000s. The same can happen for China so this might actually be a good thing. Eventually, Chinese gamers will go for the original. They'll see.

You sure sound confident. Well, China's still a different country so the development might be different. We'll have to wait and see about that.

We'll see about it thedoodseven. Can't be too sure but we'll see. Best Buy tried their best to encourage people to buy original but you know what happened.
