Will you be able to download day 1 download to flash drive before launch night?

Gotta assume so. You'd want to think MS would want to keep as much strain off the server as possible. I'm sure a day or two before launch it will pop up online for everything to grab.

I agree with you, i'm pretty sure it should be.

I wouldn't be too sure. I don't quite know the mechanics behind it, but I know that normally when consoles (at least it's definitely the case for games) come out, the servers aren't always active, and until the designated launch date you can't do anything. There's always the possibility that MS won't 'release' the day one update until the console launches, so that people obtaining the console early by any means can't use it before anyone else.

That's purely speculation though, and I might be talking nonsense, but it's not necessarily a guarantee that it'll be available before launch.

Some of the Target customers who got their consoles early were able to download it before being banned. So its definitely up.

It will most likely be available in the next week on the Xbox webpage.
It would be stupid to not make it available since so many people just want to play as fast as possible.

I am also hoping to get a list of commands, gestures, setup guide and other things before release, but its hard to find anything
unless its all going to be onscreen.

It would make sense to put it on a external drive then upload it to xb1. PS4 did it but still had massive server issues and still have them as we speak. The traffic is overwhelming they say. I say......you have pre-order numbers so how can you be unprepared for a launch??? It just baffles me when games do this as well saying that due to server overload.

I would be sure they will.
Assuming the servers will be on 100% load during the first couple of days, they would try to minimize the load as much as they can.
So no worries.
For such a global event it is a must to do so.

I agree. I need to know before getting the system what are the correct commands to use with K2.

Ah okay, fair enough then. I'm entirely unsurprised that they were banned though.

In that case, Microsoft have no reason not to release the update online prior to the console launch. The day one update for the Wii U was a nightmare, and were it not for the fact that you could download in the background it would have been even worse. MS should have more stable servers in place than Nintendo (I don't think they were prepared for it), but it wouldn't do any harm to try and reduce any potential stress.

Maybe we'll be hearing soon about a way to download it early. I really hope they don't think their servers can handle all these people getting on at the same time and trying to download an update, specially not after their sites ****ed up when the whole "Xbox 180" thing happened.

My advice, and only a guess, for anyone that preordered is install right away and get the update before Friday after dinner time and Sat,
when swarms will try to go online like what happened to the PS4.

I think if overload will happen, it will be later Friday evening into Sat.

Agreed. I believe folks preordering and going home downloading the update won't have much of a problem. It's the ones who wait until later Friday or even Saturday that will have a problem.

That is a tricky question. I guess it would be impossible, since the servers would be either busy or not working at all.
