Considering the fact that the PlayStation 4 is severely outselling the Xbox One.

Do you think Microsoft will slash the price in order to compete? I think they will. They kinda have to. The price is the main reason they are being out sold. They thought that they could charge people whatever they wanted, and they were wrong.

I hope Microsoft has learned it lesson. Customers are now demanding fair prices. The days of price gauging is over .

What do you think?

They will in a few years or something. Doubt it will be anytime soon.

Yeah I think that they will slash the price but I highly doubt that it would be anytime soon. They always lower the price a few years after the console has been released. Before both of there releases I always had the feeling that the PS4 would outsell the Xboxone. Me personally I will be buying both consoles because I just like them both I am not on one side when it comes to getting consoles.

It'll happen, but not now. There's no way they can just slash the price now. Lots of factors to consider. But yeah, looks like MSFT have learned their lesson. They tried to do the DRM thing, passed on the Rime, going with some controversial indie policy and now, the price.

Yup, me too. Price high or low, I'll still buy the consoles. No worries for me.

It's gonna happen but don't expect it to be an early Christmas. There's a lot of factors to consider when doing that price cut so you'll have to wait. For a while.

It's coming but probably next year or so. You can't just cut the price right now and expect it to be the permanent. For us consumers, it's good but for business, not really.. yet.

Not anytime soon. Yup, they may win in terms of the dollar but then that's less units than the PS4.... so yeah, a price cut's got to do. But remember, MSFT's got to do some profits so a price cut's gonna cut them hard.

The will have to sooner of later because slashing the price and taking the deficit might turn out better because they can make money else where like game licensing. They are losing too much market share because of the horrible launch of the Xbox one and have to make that back because the fan base is all they have left.

They already have if you consider the fact there are bundles that contain a game now. Walmart and Best Buy are selling the Titanfall bundle for $449. Subtract the $60 for the game and it is cheaper than PS4. I think if it starts selling well at that price Microsoft may officially drop it to there. I don't think kit will get much cheaper than that in the near future.

Exactly. They got to do something or PS4 will have outsold them in this very generation.

The ps4 is outselling the one but I don't think msft will slash the price yet. The thing with consoles is that it's more about the games. Let's say some ground-breaking games come out for the one but not for the ps4. Gamers are fans of videos games, not necessarily consoles. Gamers will have no choice but to buy the console. I think this is the strategy msft is aiming for.

I purchase the xbox one for my husband and sons for christmas. They are less than impressed with the performance in comparison to previous xboxes we've owned. My husband think they will update or upgrade it with a "download" of some sort. I am not sure of what makes the price worth the value, but I am sure that they have to do something or they will lose the faith of loyal fans.

What do you mean? It's already more expensive than a PS4 but it also has a nice kinect. If you are talking about the backwards compatibility, I think it will smash the price.

they dont have to ... best buy, walmart, target have all dropped the price.. it hink target was at 540 with a game and 12 months of gold.

As noted by DualShockers, a limited-time sale at Target makes the Xbox One an absolute steal. The nationwide retailer is offering Microsoft’s Xbox One Titanfall bundle and 13 months of Xbox Live service for just $449.99.

On its own, hot new mech-style shooter Titanfall retails for $59.99. A year of Xbox Live also has a retail value of $59.99, which adds up to $120 lopped off the cost of the new Xbox One console. Add on Target’s $50 discount and you’re looking at an effective final price of $330.

The offer is pretty shocking considering the Xbox One just launched this past November. Even when the extra $50 off sale is over, buyers are still looking at $380 for the Xbox One considering the Titanfall and Xbox Live deals.

which makes it cheaper than ps4.

Eventually they will but it probably won't happen anytime soon. I am sure they have no problem selling the system at the price point right now, so if they have no problem with it they might as well keep selling it at that price point! Once sales start dropping a bit I am sure they will slightly lower their price, not by much though.

Actually it doesn't.

Nobody wants Titanfall, or the Kinect. That is why they are basically giving it away. Noone is going to care about that. The average consumer is only going to see the $50, and choose the the PlayStation 4 because it is $50 cheaper.

Microsoft is still missing the point. They need to change their console strategy. Not force on people. They should already know that no one wants those things. They need to focus more on gaming rather than social media.

i think you are on the wrong forum.. this is xbox forum.. 97+% of us have a xb1 and enjoy it..
titanfall is doing and did well in sales..

For the 360 yes, but for the Xbox One, I don't think the big M will do that anytime soon. The Xbox One is selling pretty well and I don't think MS will slash the price because the PS4 is out selling the Xbox One, I mean its still too early for both consoles. Maybe they will in a few years time, but prices cuts aren't really happening often, if the Xbox One is doing worst than the Wii U then I guess MS will cut its price, but I doubt MS will cut the price just because Sony out sold them for a few million consoles, maybe the next few years, but definitely not sooner.

Another news from Microsoft that after 9 hours they will not be responsible for any query or repair of windows xp.
