Xbox One Is that Windows 8 on the Xbox one?

Actually, its a modified version so therefore, under the hood, its indeed pretty much Windows 8 but a with a lot of stuff stripped off.

I'm not a fan of Windows 8, but I guess the UI of Xbox One isn't that bad. I mean I don't have any issues using it since we have voice commands that are available. It would probably be an issue for me if the voice commands were disabled.

Eventually, we'll be liking the UI so much that we'll subliminally buy those Surface tablets or something. And then we'll start making custom blocks or something and then.... METROFIED! wahahahahha XD Yeah, we'll get used to it.

Nope, not the Windows 8. It's just a version that takes elements of the Windows 8 UI. Like what some say here, Microsoft made Windows 8 so since they also make the Xbox, they had their freedom to make the UI and they chose to base it off Windows 8 Metro UI. Some elements are there but definitely not Windows 8.

It's just a copy of the windows 8 UI on the xbox one. I've read about it earlier and yeah, it's not totally Windows 8, They just made it look like it because of the new trend, well windows 8 is the new OS and Xbox One is the new console. So Microsoft decided to add that look into the console.

Yup, it's just based on Windows 8. It takes some elements like the UI and animation but it's Xbox One's UI. Xbox One's UI still misses some elements from Windows 8 so it has some uniqueness to it at least. There are some elements in the UI I actually like more than Windows 8.

You got that right. Well I have no complaints on the UI, but well I'm still trying to get used to it. I am used to the Xbox 360 UI.

It's like the new UI we always had to try first: you just go with it for a few times and eventually, you'll get used to it and in time, it'll become second nature. It'll be funny in 5 years, you look back in this thread an say, "hahahah. Wow, I was like this? Not used to the UI?" Yeah, probably our future selves are laughing at us right now.
