Xbox One Is the PS4 a flop compared to Xbox One

Not sure if I agree with that statement. I'm sure, for you, there is nothing to play yet. However, most here in this forum would agree there are a lot of games we're dying to get our hands on. Forza, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, CoD, etc...

I disagree. I will play launch games because that's what we but I would say I'm dying to play them. There not exactly top quality games. I maybe a loyal Xbox fan, but I'm no fanboy Xbot.

You're asking a non-question here.

The PS4 has been out for a couple of days, and only in a small part of the world. It's even sold a million units already, which is no mean feat. But the console has barely launched yet, so it's far too soon to call it a 'flop'. People have been calling the Wii U a flop, and it's too soon to do that too. It hasn't had a good start, and sales have been seriously poor this year, but it's still getting up and running as far as software is concerned.

But to make things worse, you're comparing this brand new console to a console that hasn't even launched yet. People aren't playing Xbox One yet, and somehow you expect us to be able to judge the levels of success of both consoles well enough that we can make a solid comparison between the two. In a year or so, when both have had time to get properly set up, and games start to release (or at least start to be announced), then we can make some comparisons, but we can't use the word 'flop' - it's absolutely ridiculous to call the console a 'failure' before it reaches the end of its lifespan.

I think commercially it's the furthest you can get from a "flop". Critically it remains to be seen, though initial impressions are good as far as I can tell.

Making such suggestions and accusations about something which has barely even exited the factory a couple of days ago of being a flop is a bit too early, don't you think?

I am not sure what are you defining as a flop. Console is out, games are out. A huge team worked on that release so that they would make the fans happy. Of course, there are always people feeling negative about anything, but really. There are tons of fans getting all excited each and every day just powering the machine. Just chill

Nah, not a flop. I think Sony is in a better position with the PS4 than they were with the PS3. I think, as far as total sales go, it'll be close between the Xbone and PS4. Both consoles, IMO, are very strong and will be highly competitive which can only be a good thing for us gamers. We'll see them compete against each other like crazy which will lead to better games and cheaper prices for gamers. We all win!

The Wii U, on the other hand, looks like it might struggle. The new Mario looks fantastic, it's just going to be a hard sell for Nintendo when the PS4 and Xbone come out.

I agree. Not calling the Wii U a flop, but when both the PS4 and XB1 hit and become mainstays, Nintendo will find it difficult competing with those systems.

They just don't have the appeal they did in the Wii days, which is unfortunate. I could see why they want with the tablet. The DS is a similar set up and that has been hugely popular and also, at the time they were coming up with ideas for the next Wii, the iPad was hitting it big, so maybe they figured the idea would be bigger than it really is. It really doesn't help that they've priced themselves relatively high. I think PS4 and Xbone look like really good deals in comparison. I'll probably still get the Wii U eventually down the line for the first party games, but it'll have to be quite a bit cheaper (like below $200).

I would actually say it's the other way around. For two consoles that seem to argue over "who's bigger" type topics, it seems to be a huge failure of the Xbox One to not be able to run COD in 1080p.

You have to also keep in mind when the game companies received their development systems. In most cases, they only have but a short amount of time to finish coding a game. Unfortunately, if they aren't familiar with the new game system architecture or specs change at the last moment (i.e.: Microsoft adding more RAM), it can result in not producing the best possible game for the system at launch. I think, given more time with the XB1, we will see games that are amazing and taking advantage of 1080p graphics @ 60hz. Apparently, the PS4's architecture (from what most are saying) is much easier to work with, compared to the XB1.
