Xbox One Midnight release, anyone camping out?

For those who did not have the Xbox shipped, are you going to brave the line and camp out tonight? Or are you walking in tomorrow to pick up your pre order?
Who doesn't have a pre order and is going to try and snag one at a midnight release?
Those who had it shipped, are you getting it on launch day?

I'm debating if I should go to my local best buy at midnight, it's cold here in NY.
 
Well, i pre-ordered mine. But still I guess that camping out is a cool idea. You have to struggle a bit to get the gold, right? And even then, wouldn't it be a bless if after all you're waiting you finally get what you came for? This certainly gets you to value the X1 a bit more after all
 
I pre-orderd mine at walmart and i WISH i could camp out tonight but i cant so i have to go and get it in the morning..but i have to wait till 10am so i can go get my games at gamestop and gamestop doesnt open in my area until 10 am :( which sucks! so i have to wait like 3-4 hours after i wake up which is going to kill me
 
I'm just gonna show up at midnight... I imagine best buy will go fast and no need to camp out, mine is preordered and reserved.
 
I have not been able to pre-order nor reserve, since i didn't really now if would be able to buy it (money issues) But now that i got all my money, all i can do is go camping. haha life is cruel, as you might know. But still, camping out is sort of an adventure, so there is always a plus :)
 
Camping out? I never thought people actually do that.. Despite it being quite sad to be honest, it does seem to be a sort of cool idea, but then again, rather sad to be camping outside a store for a game.
 
I will be outside of Gamestop with a few friends. I enjoy the atmosphere of being with friends and other fellow gamers as the time ticks away. Always a fun time and this will be the first time I do it for a console. All other consoles I picked up the morning of launch. I'll have a thread up when I'm in line with pics and updates.
 
I don't really have to camp out because I pre ordered mine but a friend of mine didn't so, I guess I ll be camping out with them. Maybe start playing it then with them.

Kinda sounds like what I did... I preordered my system at Walmart, but will be picking it up at 12:01am tonight (even thought it's not a 24hr location). I also preordered Forza 5 at Gamestop so I'll either try getting it tonight or wait until tomorrow morning to get it. Good luck!

I pre-ordered mine and i will get it delivered. I somehow like the camping part, which i apparently will miss. There is nothing better then having to wait for the surprise to come. Well, of course it depends on the weather, so if it will be nasty - good luck guys :)

We were originally going to have it shipped to the house but wound up deciding to pick-up at the store instead. We're still debating about whether or not to go to the midnight release, though. It's getting down below freezing at night here and I just don't know if I want to deal with that kind of weather for however long we'd have to stand in line for.
 
i will be.. thankfully where i live is a small area. im going around 545 to pay the rest off and get my number/spot for 12.
 
I went through gamestop so I'm going to stop by there, get my number for the line then go get dinner. Ill make mu appearance around 1030 or so to checkout the festivities before the glorious event
 
camping out was always a sort of cool thing for me. You want the gadget so badly, you wait till the shops are open, run and grab it. Then you don't sleep for a day or two - that is the beauty of it. The web shops had to get rid of it, but i am so happy this phenomena is still alive. Good luck!
 
I just called my Best Buy to ask them a question about the midnight release and they said they have had people standing outside since 8 AM this morning. WOW. I preordered from the store, but cant make the midnight release because I am working tonight. But I will be there at 9 AM tom when they open to get mine. I just wanted to make sure that I would have one saved for me. Cant believe their is a line. She said what they will do is close the store at 9 PM tonight, then the employees will process those standing in line then send them back outside to wait for midnight. That way at midnight, they can just walk right up and hand them the xbox 1 so it should go smooth.

Have to wait till tomorrow....but what makes it worse is, this is the Christmas present for my kids so I have to wait till the 25th just to open it.... BOOOOOOO. But at least I will have one for Christmas morning and by then, hopefully all the bugs will be worked out..... or at least any major ones.....

This makes me want to go to a Best Buy and see all the people freezing outside.

And then I'll cry a little inside when I realize I won't have an XBox tomorrow
 
After the catastrophe that was the Midnight Launch of the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3, I've never bothered going to midnight releases for things that are this big. Even in some of the most tame cities, something always happens. I'm sure there's going to be at least one incident tonight in my town at either Best Buy, Wal-Mart, or Gamestop, seeing as all three locations are located in the same shopping district. However, if I DID pre-order the ONE, I'd just wait till the following morning to pick it up. However, I've never pre-ordered consoles since they almost always have some kind of problem at launch, whether it's internet problems, or system problems.
