Xbox One MSFT made wrong decisions, pushing with gamers first - Spencer

XD awww man. Don't get me started there. A female man huh? Well, the only way we'll know is to have AB9100 answer the question her/himself. XD

Let's focus on the topic here guys, not what AB9100's gender is. But yeah, curious as well. Anyway, back to the topic... MSFT's better be right about gamer first 'cuz if it's just for their own benefit.... shame on them.

It doesn't matter what they say.

Their console has already been rejected. They built the console to do specific things that they thought would sell, and they were wrong. No one like it. They have already lost this generations console war, and they know it. There is nothing that they can do .

Everyone knows that the PlayStation 4 is more powerful, cheaper, and has more potential. only thing they can do is lower the price, and try to break even.

He is just saying that because that was Sony's strategy, and the PlayStation 4 is easily outselling the Xbox One.

And Sony only did that because it was Nintendo's stratedgy, and the Wii outsold everything in the last gen.

The thing I like about Nintendo and Sony's strategy is that Nintendo shunned CDs at first because console prior that used CDs failed miserably and Sony was ridiculously successful with the PSX), they also ran with up-to-date but not as powerful hardware while Nintendo was running with powerful hardware. Even though the N64 didn't do as well as the PSX, they management to make money still. With the PS2 Sony took the same approach, Nintendo put out the GC which used mini-discs and loaded faster (due to less data to read) and powerful hardware (outclassed by the Xbox), but it was a repeat of the N64.

Sony changed the plan with PS3 to compete with Xbox 360 and it was like they took Nintendo's playbook. Nintendo took Sony's that time and got it right with the Wii. While everyone was going on about powerful consoles--which few bickered about with the last two generations--they forgot that the last time the most powerful console took the sales at that time was the SNES over Genesis.

This time Sony went back to their playbook. Keep It Simple Stupid has rarely never worked.

Whatever the case man, I just hope that with microsoft's new management in line they won't mess up.

Well, you put quite a good point here. Yeah, you're right. Sony won it over for the PS1 and PS2, and was a bit of a downhill and uphill with the PS3. Nintendo won a lot with the NES and SNES but were on downhill battles with the N64 and Gamecube (although they won over the gamers and critics with their awesome games) but ultimately, they were able to win the battle of last-gen with the Wii.

Now, with this gen, Sony goes back to their winning strategy before, Nintendo took a slight or semi-detour from what made them successful and the Xbox One... well, I could say they took some points from Sony and Nintendo. And so far, we can Sony is winning.

You make great points.

I agree with your lst point the most. Keep it simple, and fair. In this economy that is what people are looking for.MIcrosoft decided not do that. If you think that the Xbox One is bad now. You should look up what they were planning to do before the release. People forget about the DRM, and the mandatory internet check-in plans.

Microsoft was too cocky. They thought they could get away with anything. They tried to charge people $100 more for an inferior system. Hopefully they have learned their lesson now.

Yup. And awww wman.... I remember that DRM policy and the check-ins. Hahaha... when they revealed those, gamers hated it and when Sony showed the gamers they were doing the opposite... MSFT flipped those plans away and went the Sony way. Now let's see how they do with this one.

More potential? In exactly what way is that? How did this forum start letting fanboy statements become part of the conversation? This is why I stopped posting here. I read things like this and more or less the whole thread and I wonder what separates this place from IGN or NeoGAF.

Exactly what potential are we talking about?

By the way, 4 million people bought an Xbox One. So this notion that "no one wants it" is fanboy bull**** and needs to stop.

Why is that? Gamers should get more attention. It is a GAMING machine still.

Haha. I know right? Can't really get fanboy most of the time.
