Xbox One My Experience: Xbox One has crap service and is a waste of money

So I paid cash for a brand new xbox on, DR3, and live card on feb. 17th. On April 17 I went out and paid for kinect rivals only to get home and find my kinect dead, wont power on and I tried EVERYTHING. So I started a repair service request, I dont see how MS wants us to pay for anything other then free shipping....Its absolute horse s**t they expect us to pay for the product then pay for faster then snail shipping AND I EVEN HAD TO PAY FOR THE BOX AND PACKAGING (wtf) So i contacted a chat support agent and was told he would send this problem to "the support team" and someone would get a hold of me for free expedited shipping and to exp the repair process. I waited till today the 22nd and just went ahead and shipped it off, figured screw it I could have already had it there and maybe fix by now. I get to fed ex and im charged another 10 for boxing the ****ing thing up.....really ms.......so now im pissed, $600 day 1, titan fall, pvz mw, trials, kinect rivals, need for speed, and bf4 since and now because an item broke AFTER 2 MONTHS im getting nickeled and dimed to death.

I called 2 more times today and was more or less told but the chick from MS in SOL cause they will not refund any charges by fed ex (even tho i was never told about the boxing costing money, Nore did i get the email with shipping instructions that prolly told me to box it at home). So I asked to speak with the person above her, wait on hold for 10-15 min and BAM call is dropped......I wait for a call back and got nothing, so i call again.......more waiting but I got a supervisor on the line who told me im **** OUT OF LUCK, that the chat agent should never have told me about exp. shipping cause "this isnt a problem worth escalating". REALLY MS HOW dMUCH HAVE I ****ING SPENT ON YOUR ****Y SYSTEM? I ask to speak with the person above him and he tells me NO!????!??!??!?!? wtf

Well never the less once the kinect is back this POS will be traded or returned for a ps4, lol i went thru 4 xbox 360 with the RROD and they boxing and shipping was always free. I under stand the PS4 is killing the xbone but for **** sake this is just plain ****y service to the customer. Thankfully anyone coming to my store im employed at for a xbone WILL indeed hear about this and swayed to the ps4. Loved my 360, but the service I have gotten with the one killed it for me.

so I bid you good bye xbox and with all my heart I truly truly mean **** YOU!
 
That sucks. I haven't heard of anyone being treated that poorly. You work at a store that sells Xbox Ones and you couldn't exchange that thang.

Good point! It would be traded up for a fresh new off the shelf system.

Wow. Just wow. That really sucks. Trying to get a next-gen console and this is what you get? Unbelievable.
 
Ouch. That's.... man, that's not cool man. That is not cool. You buy a system and this is how you're treated? -_- man.
 
Services like me really disgust me. They can't even help him? Geez man. We got to have better services.

Wow, this hasn't happened to me yet. Maybe you were just unlucky.
 
You could have boxed it up yourself and sent it back for about $4 USPS Priority Mail and just wait a little to get a replacement for no additional cost for the kinect to you.

They put a hold, they do not charge you, on your CC for the product so you can get it quicker, then they release the hold when they get your return. Standard business practice from what I have experienced.

I don't really think you can blame MS for you taking an unboxed item to FedX and them charging you to wrap it up and ship it. Sorry that's your fault alone and just common sense.

You also said "screw it" and did what you wanted instead of waiting and that's somehow is MS's fault?

Now this great item you wanted, the Xbox One is suddenly a POS and your getting a PS4. C'mon that doesn't make sense at all.

Hmmm... reading your reply and re-reading what he said here.... yours makes more sense. We don't even know much about how it all went. I mean, the way he wrote his reaction here: it's all in anger. Can't really tell if MS was really like that or something.

We can't really fight against that. well it all boils down to your own perception of things.

Hm, that's interesting. My cousin has a kinect issue and he got free shipping and they mailed him a box for it as well. Got it back less than 2 weeks after. Also, like others have mentioned, the charge on the card is just a hold so that they assure gettign the kinect back. The charge is taken away one the kinect is received. I've never has any serious issue with MSFT in my past experience. I guess this is the price of early adoption. My PS4 Dualshock is already falling apart, especially the triggers. From what I've read and heard on some Podcast, this is a pretty common and wide spread problem, yet Sony has no replacement infrastructure setup for it. Again, the price of being an early adopter. I'm not defending MSFT b/c I know it could have easily been the other way around. I just don't think the problem deserves the punishment of abandoning the platform. Just my opinion though.
 
Wow, that sucks man I hope you're doing well now. I've never experienced anything like that when we purchased one for my brother but the console is not yet two months old so I guess I have to still be vigilant.
 
Things break, it's just the way of life. Companies are often rated on how they do when something does fail, as opposed to when they succeed. Those who have things go wrong are often in the very slim minority, but they often speak the loudest as well. They should, of course, so that the rest of us stay aware and up-to-date on the goings on.
 
I can understand the frustration with the situation. I'd be just as upset if it were me. Unfortunately, I think you happened to be a part of that small percentage of people who get faulty hardware. I don't think the whole system should be condemned, or that you should jump ship to the PS4 so quickly.
