Xbox One My Experience: Xbox One has crap service and is a waste of money

Just reading that is so frustrating. I could never understand why when you actually want to give people your money that they actually treat you so badly. I swear that this was truly an awful experience and I could really understand why you feel the way that you do.

You could have boxed it up yourself and sent it back for about $4 USPS Priority Mail and just wait a little to get a replacement for no additional cost for the kinect to you.

They put a hold, they do not charge you, on your CC for the product so you can get it quicker, then they release the hold when they get your return. Standard business practice from what I have experienced.

I don't really think you can blame MS for you taking an unboxed item to FedX and them charging you to wrap it up and ship it. Sorry that's your fault alone and just common sense.

You also said "screw it" and did what you wanted instead of waiting and that's somehow is MS's fault?

Now this great item you wanted, the Xbox One is suddenly a POS and your getting a PS4. C'mon that doesn't make sense at all.

Sounds about right. My Kinect didn't work out of the box so I called Microsoft Support. They immediately sent me a replacement and later I returned my broken Kinect to them using the box in which the replacement came. Yes, I had to wait a week, but I didn't have to pay for a box, packing, wrapping, or shipping.

I actually thought talking to someone in a chat window was great support. I had some hiccups at first and they helped me through them.. I was trying to set up TV through the X1 and well its not compatible with the Xfinity X1 system. oh well.

This person only has one post and its caused quite a debate.

MS (and Sony and Nintendo) all have these hoops you jump through so that people can get to the level of service they need. Unfortunately the systems are never 100% efficient and there's going to be people that end up with some bad luck and have a bad experience. With that said, the best way to deal with bad customer service is to not necessarily spam, for lack of better terms, an Xbox forum that's dedicated to sharing the love of the console and the games that's on it.

If you are not a troll and you still frequent this board, perhaps you'll take this advice to heart. When you call the customer support people and show them a little bit of decency and talk to them and ask them how their day is, they are more likely to escalate and take care of you. If you speak to them the way you spoke on this board, they will not do this.

So, I suggest that if you experience something like this in anyway, just speak in a professional, caring and concerned tone and you'll get results you like versus putting the target on people.

You can hear horror stories about any product in existence. Be it Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony I guarantee that such incidents happened with each of them. Does this mean their products are a waste of money? No! Sure, no one wants similar stuff happening to them, but it does. Maybe a different approach to the issue would have resulted in a different, way better, outcome?

I disagree I have had my Xbox 1 for a couple weeks now and and my experience with it hasn't been a good one in fact I'm actually thinking about getting rid of it and sticking with Sony for now on Microsoft really messed up with the Xbox 1

I'll be honest, when Xbox One was released in November of 2013, I kind of got turned off from Xbox in general. You're right, the customer service was pathetic and it could've been seen as a waste of time and money. I think since then, however, Microsoft has made a lot of improvements towards Xbox in general, but especially the customer service aspect.

Also, in the beginning, I did hear about a couple Kinect issues. So nothing you experienced sounded out of the ordinary (maybe just a bit of bad luck).

However, I feel since the early days of Xbox One, Microsoft, generally speaking, have made major improvements to their gaming division as a whole.
