This seems to be a very risky proposition for EA to take (assuming the article proves to be true). Although I do remember a "little game", called NFL2K5 that released for $20 and scared EA so bad that they went out and signed an exclusive deal with the NFL. This seems like a good way to get back into the basketball market. If they are able to "re-establish themselves", EA will probably up the price on future versions of the game. EA does have to realize, if they don't make a high quality product with this years version, then they might as well hang up the NBA franchise.

If a new report proves accurate, EA Sports' NBA LIVE 13 will arrive this October through Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network as a $20 download. The report comes from an interview IRBGAMER held with an EA Sports representative this week at the GameStop managers' conference in San Antonio, Texas.
