Xbox One Official Xbox One E3 2013 Thread

*Xbox One to Release in Novemeber for $499.

*Battlefield 4: Second Assualt for the Xbox One is being shown, talks about dynamic battle. First on Xbox One. Little slow to start. Looks amazing! Sharp lighting effects, background enviroments are great, and the rest of the people on screen looking good as well. They did good with this one.

This presentation failing to load was hilarious. You could hear portions of the crowd heckling EA for their blunder. Of all the presentations, it's strangely ironic and appropriate that EA's is the one that failed given their massive mistakes with DRM in the past.

A bit more expensive than previously reported (I think), but it makes more sense. It falls in line with some of the prices we saw with the previous generation's consoles near release. I still think they'll eventually announce "Advanced" or "Premium" versions which will bump up the cost even more. Maybe they'll have a "Lite" version as well which is a bit cheaper.

Still, that price falls right in line with what I expected.

Yeah, you had to feel alittle bad for the guy, staring at the crowd not knowing what to do and all, lol. Price point did kind of catch me by surprise. I thought for sure 400 would be the max.

That was pretty funny. Awkward, mostly. That guy just didn't really know what to do about it, and even almost gave up and walked back stage. Hahaha. Ah well, everyone seemed pretty pleased over all... and, I mean. Wow. BF4 did look dang good. Almost too realistic though.

$499 with DRM is a big mistake. Now that the PS4 is announced at $399 with no DRM they are going to have to respond just to have a chance. I love Xbox but this Kinect nonsense is really killing them. I expect some kind of concession although $100 more at launch is huge.

Microsoft is going to have to have to change their stance on a lot of things if they want to compete with Sony. The PS4 has so many things going for it while the Xbox has got everything wrong.

Somehow the PS4 is cheaper, it's got used games, no online requirement... how could Microsoft be so ignorant and or arrogant to think that people would support them after their competitor one ups them in every aspect? My only explanation would be that Microsoft thought Sony would follow suit and implement all the features nobody wanted too...

Their E3 showing was boring and in my mind they've already lost this console war.

I didn't watch any actual video or anything, what were the 2 free games per month? Like, arcade-type titles I assume? Do you only get them for that month, or are they permanently unlocked for your account? I find this idea appealing, hopefully it's implemented well. I definitely like that they're adding more value to Live, since I still believe it should be a free service anyway.

Otherwise, I tend to agree with you @chunkaroonie, Microsoft is acting like they don't have any competition and it seems like Sony is besting them this round in a lot of ways. I think "ignorant and arrogant" is the perfect description, I just don't get how they can completely seem to ignore what their competition is doing. It's absolutely baffling to me, I can't get over it! Charge more for their console, charge for online access, don't let your rent or buy used games, then on top of it they're gonna check on you every 24 hours! You won't need to check on my games, I'll be too broke to buy any!

Thats the same thing I was saying as I was hearing all the things that Microsoft was unleashing upon their onlookers. When Sony did their conference, towards the end I kept saying in my head "they just hit Microsoft with another deathblow."

I guess its back to the drawing board and a lesson learned for Microsoft. :)

I loved that part where the gameplay footage wasn't playing for Battlefield 4! Revenge for them implementing stupid policies. They released a LOT of information though, some great features were announced. I also like the wide variety of exclusives they are offering.

That Battlefield 4 gameplay reveal was really... cringe worthy to say the least. Just to show how they should have put more money in building a better conference, and less in expensive cars.
