Physical (hard copy) or digital games?

Having a physical copy is so much more satisfying when you are buying for your console. Sure it is slightly more expensive but really I have a hard time shelling out money for something which I don't have in a tangible form.

To top that my internet collection is slow as hell and I am not exactly the most patient person in the world. Buying physical copies is much more convenient for me. Admittedly most of my PC games are digital copies.

Now that I think about it, I guess maybe it will depend on your connection. If you hve a decent one (me I have 50 down and 5 up) then maybe that could be the way. While others may not.

If they don't do pre-loading, it is going to be tough. I think I am 20 down and 2 up which isn't terrible, but I'm 10 minutes from multiple retailers. Downloading a large blu ray sized game is just going to take longer for me no matter what (it depends on how far you have to drive to get to a store). If we can start pre-loading, even the night before it will work a lot better.

It will depend on how much you have to download to start playing too.

I wonder if they'll have a download then shut down the console option. That way we can just start it in the morning and by the time most are home from work/school, it will be ready.

First, real quick. Welcome in Landshark! I see you got my message. :) I'm glad you are here.

Well, now it looks like pre-loading may not be an issue if you want to do bonus content:

Xbox Live's Major Nelson » What will be included in the Day One Editions of Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 :

To commemorate the launch of Xbox One, Day One Editions are special game SKUS that include exclusive content and are available only through retail pre-order while supplies last, or via download on Xbox Live the first two weeks after launch.

I'm just the opposite of BlackSolaris, I don't want to look at video game cases all stacked up and lined up in my house. They all pretty much look the same on the side anyway. I hide the ones I have now in a box from Ikea under my coffee table. I'm minimalistic though, I'd rather buy digital and have art on my walls instead of a shelf full of ugly green Xbox cases. I'd hide my phsysical Xbox away if I could. It seems as though that will be even harder with the huge Xbox One console.

My friend is the same way. She doesn't like even organized clutter around and tries to limit what she's got on display. She has a few DVDs in cases in the closer, but for the most part downloads games and movies so they are there, just not visibly out in the open taking up space.

Digital all the way. Can't wait to be able to preload games and start playing instantly at midnight!

I will get as many digital games as makes sense. If they are cheaper, then definitely 100%, but there are certain games that I would want on the One. For example, I use the Kinect as part of my daily workout. I would love to have it on the system to do that part of my workout, go finish my workout elsewhere, come back shower, eat and play the next game without having to switch discs every day.

Sometimes, I get frustrated with a game. I'd love to shut it off and switch to another one without having to actually get up to do it.

Basically, I saw the benefits of everything or most things digital when I was playing the Game Room and just quickly went from game to game on a whim.

i would love to go digital but as of right now their is little to no info on pre ordering limited edition or the non core game as a digital pre order. so right now i am on physical but would not be against a code to lock that disk to my console/gamertag so i can go diskless.

Digital all the way. I have always preferred o get my games through downloads. There are not many retail stores available in India.

Disc or disc-less or both?

We've all heard of the rumors about a disc-less Xbox One coming out. While some hate it, some like it. So that's got me asking the question: are you disc, disc-less or both? Me, I'm both. A mix of it. Sometimes, there are games I like that are only digital and there are some only disc. So, how about you?

Depends, if the games that are available on digital have smaller sizes I wouldn't mind going for a disc-less Xbox One. But I'm quite used to using discs anyways so I might as well go with it.

If it were me, I'd be both too. I mean, with the PS3 in my case, I got PS+ so Sony gives me games to play via digital. But there are some games I really want but can only be obtained in disc form so I need the discs. So i'm a mix.

Both. Like what some of you said, some games I like are on disc, and some are digital. But in the case of PC, I'm all digital. Steam is what I use most when playing and many of the games I like have recently gone digital so it depends on the console itself.

I'm a mix of both and as spark_777, depends on the system itself. PC is where I'm all disc-less while on the PS3, it's a mix.

I don't mind taking both. There are games that would be better off using discs and there are games that have smaller sizes that would work well on digital. So I don't really mind if they implement either of which.

Same here. I don't know, I still got a love for the disc. Honestly, it sucks when you have to download the game that's big and sucks also when you have to delete for another game.

Yeah, I agree. it's really not practical to download and delete. It's way better if you have a copy that you can keep and use if you want it.

Exactly. But it also depends on the size too. Then again, you can always back it up. Well, you can buy a 100 more HDDs to keep the storage!
