PSN still struggling after highly successful EU launch

According to the PSN blog, the network is under a lot of stress since the EU launch of the PS4 on November 29th.

I bought a years subscription to PS+ on Black Friday for $29.99 at Gamestop, and haven't yet been able to redeem it.

Anyone else being affected by this outage?
