Sony Almost Joined Forces with SEGA for the PlayStation - Push Square

It's pretty well known by most that Sony initially wanted to enter the gaming world as an add-on for Nintendo consoles. The two companies however didn't see eye to eye, so Sony decided to make things happen on their own. Recently though it has been revealed that before making their own console, Sony wanted to partner up with Sega. The CEO of Sega America actually agreed to it but his proposal was turned down by the members of the board. Very interesting to know of what could have been.

In some ways I want to say this is a shame, but honestly I doubt it would have worked out very well for either. Sega did have the sort of aesthetic the PS is known for. That said Sega is best as a sort of developer, and they work well with Nintendo right now. I would have hated to see that lost.
