My wife loves the Sims games and since there hasn't been a new one released for console in a few years, I'm thinking we're due for one soon. Anyone heard anything about a Sims game for next gen?

I know Sims 4 is in the works and I'm guessing it will be released on PC and all the current consoles, just as the last few Sims games have done.

I don't think they'll release one for Xbox one. No news about it yet. But I agree it will be released on PC sooner than expected. It high time to replace The Sims 3.

I hope they can release one for Xbox One. But I'm good either way even if they only have it on PC. But it would be better not to. That way I can play on the bigger screen. My wife gets to watch too since it's her favorite game.

You know, that's funny. For some reason, many women I know love The Sims. Not a lot of videogames cover the female demographic so fully but there's something about a parallel life that strikes a chord with all types of people.

As someone mentioned earlier the next installment is in the works.

I'm pretty sure they'll release one for the Xbox One, they always have one. Personally I'm not a big fan of the game but as others have mentioned there is another one in the making.

I guess the game is always popular to women due to the setting where you create your own life in the game. Start a family etc.

I've had sims for the longest time. Well, I kinda enjoy it even if it's a simulation game. It is quite interesting at some point especially when they released a lot of patches from the start of Sims 2 up to the latest Sims 3. I hope that this new game would be more enjoyable. I wish they could add like a twist to it. Making it more realistic, include fights and all.

Haha. I hope they can include a career for boxing and other martial arts on this game. Either way, I think the sequel to Sims 3 is interesting enough judging from the huge success of the previous game.

My girlfriend loves the Sims series. She still has and plays her Sims 2 game file (with mods) from 2005. EA loves to make sure their game is everywhere so I fully expect it to be out on Xbox One and other consoles.

I don't think it's so much the "start a family" part as the playing god, establishing families, ruining families, the glitches, and the freedom for creation. It also helps that there's no actual objectives or goals in the game. Like Sim City, you create your own goals and stuff. As I told my girlfriend, it's a game you pretty much mess around in. The Sims occupying your world can die, are penalized, etc. but you aren't at all.

Yeah, it's a game made to be messed around by anybody. I used to play sims city, I build a big city and destroy it afterwards by using tornadoes, volcanoes and robots. Oh yeah, I did play sims before, often times when I'm bored I edit the walls and trap my character and I make sure that the place will catch fire.

Listen I love the Sims and I primarily play it on the PC but the console versions have always been lackluster to me. Sure they'll probably have it on the Xbox One but because of the modding community I've always been more interested in playing the Sims on my PC. With the Sims 4 looking more like the Sims 2, I doubt that you'll get more realism since the Sims have never been about that really. If they figure out a way to let us access the modding community on the console then I'm in.

I wish they could make real conversations. I'm sick of the sims language that they have. My kids often say that the developer doesn't know how to speak. I just hope they cook something new for the next game.

Maybe it was not correct, but I watched a trailer for The Sims 4 and it said that it would be released on PC, PS4 and on XBOX. It looks like a really good game. I love how the Sims pop in to the real world from a portal. It makes me wonder what Sims Come to Life will offer.

The Sims 4 is out next year for the PC. No news yet for next-gen console releases but maybe they will release them on the next-gen, but in limited form. After all, The Sims PC versions are always the one to get thanks to the modding capabilities with the PC. But hey, who knows right? I'm all for the PC version but if it can come to next-gen, sure. At least everybody gets to enjoy them.

The Sims 4 is coming to the PC fall 2014. For the time being, there hasn't been news for Sims 4 on the next-gen. There might be Sims 4 for the next-gen, since Sims 3 did come out for the PS3 and 360. That's all there is right now about the next Sims.

The Sims and Sim City allowed for you to be a jerk. I would go on my gf's game and take doors out of rooms. It's also the only game we can watch each other player for awhile. Well that and Superman 64.

What I know of the next Sims is The Sims 4 is coming to PC, Fall 2014, exclusively for the EA Origin. For news on the consoles, I haven't heard of although as everyone hear says, there may be console versions in the works as well.

Who knows right? But yeah, same here. PC-only version is fine with me. As for the bigger screen issue, why not just buy something that can stream your PC to the HDTV? She can still watch you play but you still get to play the PC
