Xbox One Warning for the Xbox One 4Chan Backward Compatibility Prank

I'm surprised that 1. anyone believe Xbox One* will be backwards compatible (when the 360 wasn't at launch and only ended up being so for some games), and 2. Anyone trusts instructions they receive from 4Chan

I'd say that the hoax had spread away from 4chan by the time everyone else started trying it so it's not like they were going on 4chan, saw the code, and decided to try it. Well, not most people anyway.

People who believe in the lies 4Chan makes. Despite us saying it;'s stupid, there will be others who will believe in it. That's the sad part: there will be others. Man.... it's true. There will definitely be people falling for this. It just hurts my heart a lot. I know it can't be prevented all the time but I just wish people didn't have to be so gullible about this.

Microsoft has stated over and over again that there is no backwards compatibility on the Xbox One so why would you risk bricking your console because of something you saw on 4chan. Listen sometimes they can be a great source of information but other times the trolling on their is rampant, I just don't get why people couldn't wait for a reliable source to confirm it before they ruined their consoles.

That's what you call reverse psychology. The thing is the more it's says something against the thing the more you want to try it. Some of them are just plain gullible.

Yeah it's pretty realistic to think that people would go out and do this simply based on the fact that people are ridiculous. It's annoying that so many seemed to fall for this because again 4Chan was the source of their information. I like 4chan, and sometimes again their info can be very reliable but this was just something that should've and could've been avoided.
