I imported my console when it got released and it's been a little inconvenient to get the games. When will the Xbox get an official Asia release so that I can buy localised region games.

In contrast, the Microsoft Xbox One has so far been given a firm release date of November 22 only in 13 countries, none of which are in Asia. The company has instead indicated a late 2014 launch of its new console in Asia. - from CNET asia

I think it's gonna take till the Q3 of next year for Xbox One to be released.

That's disappointing. Asia region may have more Sony users but the Xbox ain't doing half bad here either. In fact the Xbox 360 outsells the Wii U in many Asian countries other than Japan. Microsoft, why no love for your Xbox Asian followers! Late 2014 is like a year away, guess I'll have to stick to importing games or digital.

Yeah my understanding is that the PS4 is coming in Feb/March of this year but for some reason Microsoft is super delaying the release in Asian countries. Maybe they decided not to compete with Sony and wait until Asian gamers have had their fill. But in my opinion it would have been better if they held back the launch until the spring not all the way until Nov. which is what I've been reading.

The PS4 is available every where in Asia except maybe China and Japan. I think taking a whole year before officially launching in Asia is stupid. How are Asian gamers going to catch up to the games released this year and new games the next year?

I don't know what the hold up is but this delay that Microsoft is doing might have something to do with the compatibility and licenses needed on each country. After all, it's quite hard to penetrate an economy that has a lot of restrictions.

Ehhh? Really? That kinda sucks. Have you tried setting up another account set to another region? Maybe that can get you the other regional games. Until then, you'll have to wait for it a little longer than the PS4. Yeah, it sucks that Microsoft will release around the and yet, Asia is not part of it yet.

Still no news as to when asia will get Xbox One. But I hope they get it soon that way they can enjoy the console just the way we do. There are lots of games coming this year and next year. By the time they get their own Xbox One they will have most of the games available.

No matter how long it takes they will still get it in the end. I guess the trend does get quite harsh in asian countries.

They will get the console no matter what happens. I hope they do get it sooner. My brother is in Japan now and he's planning on staying there for good.

The problem isn't as much as playing the games because they are region free this gen but is that little to no local retailers carry the games because it's not official in my country yet. Those that do have the games mark up the prices due to taxes and duties. Right now all the games I bought are overpriced.

Hmmmmm.... well, weird enough, I'm already seeing Xbox One's being sold here in my country, the Philippines. But I see the PEGI icon on the boxes, so it's the European editions, not the Asian ones.

Yeah my understanding is that currently while the PS4 has begun their Asia launch with it ending in Japan on Feb. 22, the Xbox One isn't coming out in Asian Territories until Sept. I'm not sure of the reason but there was a delay and that's what happened. Unfortunately it's not going to help them, but I don't see it hurting them that badly since Asia was never that into the Xbox. Maybe that's why they pushed it back? Still it sucks for Asian gamers.

Same can be said for the Nordic gamers. They've reported that Microsoft has yet to sell in their parts of Europe. So Microsoft is more or less playing it safe in the meantime.

More or less Microsoft is slowly getting into the international market. But they will probably have to wait until everything gets settled. I guess there are issues with the governments of each country about it.

You might be right about that. Well, we'll just see what Microsoft plans to do. They probably got a lot on their plate. But if it does make it everywhere, then we'll see if the numbers will change. After all, Xbox One is sold in lesser markets than PS4, so the 3 million is a result of selling in lesser markets.

Yeah, just from that fact that Xbox sells only on a few markets would mean a better chance for them if they go all out. If they monopolize other countries that Sony has monopolized it would be a great success for them.

Yeah, well there are issues on the governments around the world, but if they pull it off it will be one hell of a success for them.

That's true. All we can do is just wait. Microsoft's got a plan and they're probably executing it now as we speak.

I think they're not in a huge rush to export it to Asia, especially Japan, because Asian consoles usually sell better there anyway. They haven't got a lot to gain by expediting the process. Elsewhere, if they release it early people get excited and all buy it at once.
