With sony announcing that the ps4 will release november 15th in the U.S, do you expect microsoft to try and one up sony?

I think they in order to get more people to buy there console like me i am very impatient in these situations to be honest i don't like waiting for a console to be released so i hope it does really.

Wellt he 15th is on Friday so that gives MSFT 2 weeks more time to release it before them. Either Friday the 1st or Friday the 8th. I cans ee them doing that or releasing it the same day. I have talked to people about this, just because a console would come out before the one I want...I am not gonna jump ship. There are WAY to many games and exclusives coming out on X1 then PS4 and I cant justify leaving all that for something that...well after todays show, has nothing not even close to what the X1 has. *Off topic* I am REALLY shocked they didnt ann. more launch titles*Back on topic*

its a 4 week window for launch i think it will be pre black friday/thanksgiving.. gmestop and major sales avenues dont want the holidays and a big release to be stacked on top. plus with pre order sales they can possibly capatolize on left over stock or self stock to sell during the spending spree.

Something tells me it's going to launch alongside Call of Duty: Ghosts. Considering how closely Microsoft and Activision are with the CoD titles and how much they are marketing CoD, I could see this being a November 5th release.

I don't know about America but in the UK they have to release before PS4 because if they release later it's no longer November and I don't think they want to release on the same day. My bet is 22nd. That is the day Watch Dogs releases, it's a friday (usual UK release date for things) and it's before PS4.

If XBO and PS4 did release on the same day though...imagine how crazy midnight launches would be? And the courier services for all the people who preordered online! It would be insane.

Well, it's all obviously just speculation at the moment, but I think they will release the same day as the PS4 or later. I mean, is the Xbox One even ready for launch? They had all the policy reversals and crap and they had to delay the European launch in some countries. I kinda feel like the console isn't really 100% ready for launch.

But we'll see.

If they were to release the console before PS4, they would have announced it in their press conference, which they didn't. It's not going to change the equation for us Asians in any way. We are going to get our hands on this console in 2014. Why we always wind up getting the short end of stick?

Hmm, November 15th is already pretty early so I don't really know. I think that it will probably be released within 2 weeks of the PS4, give take.

Do the Xbox systems even get proper support in Asian countries? I remember various cases of multiplatform games only getting released on PS3 in Asian countries, despite being released on 360 and PS3 in the West.

They are ready, here let me quote someone here.....1 sec......ok found it, its from Kotaku and it makes perfect sense:

because Microsoft hasn't been allowing them to take more preorders than they know thy can satisfy. They've kept a very tight control over it
Sony basically let them go. Remember the 360 launch? The last preorders weren't satisfied until March. Microsoft just released another batch of console preorders while Sony is still closed. That tells me that Sony has probably blown their manufacturing wad while MS is being more careful. That's probably also why they yanked a bunch of countries, to re-allocate those units to countries where there's more demand

It makes perfect sense if you think about it. Funny when he said MSFT just opened it again because I called GameStop (ugh) yesterday to see and they said only for THAT day you can order the Day 1 Edition still.

Or

They delayed other country launches to make room for more pre-orders in available countries.

Well in business if it is the best thing to focus and not mess up your strong markets, then that would be the best route.

I guess that makes some sense, yeah. I really don't know what to think of the release date at this point...

if only they don't release it too soon and rush things, making everything go wrong and leaving everyone mad, i don't think a couple of days waiting would affect sales that much.

No they wont at all. Both consoles will sell out at launch no matter what.

they just reopened it yesterday aug 21... i was with a distrct manager when the email came to him. it seems the usa market pre sales have all gotten re opened when anouncments of other countries got a delay or a software issue has come up. first it was oh we dont have a way to do the marketplace with everyones currency delay this reigon. than recently it was oh we dont have full language pack support in this area delay this reigon... iirc the user interface is based off windows8 which is worldwide already.. as far as currency i concerned microsft requires debit/credit card for market place purchase or(paypal) all of which are 3rd party entities.

i really feel it has been am ove to get as many sytems out at usa launch as possible. u have 3 major things in a very short time. the console release nov... holiday/black friday (altho no xb1 systems or games will be included) their are major purchases and layaways this time.. and christmas in general. they are just trying to feed the biggest part of the sales pie off the bat... u cn bet when xb1 releases overseas you wont hear about lack of consoles like you would over hear. last thing any marketing team wants in supply/demand in your biggest seller to be on backorder.
