Xbox One will microsoft try to release before ps4?

Or

They delayed other country launches to make room for more pre-orders in available countries.

This is where my thinking is too. All I hear is how low Xbox One pre-orders are, but yet they need all their available units to be ready for the first tier countries? Why would that be if it wasn't doing well?

I think the console is probably doing better than people are making out to be, and Microsoft knows it. They did say the pre-orders were above Xbox 360 levels, so I think they know the numbers are better than what some other internet forums are trying to push.

personally i think they have sold out a few time with pre orders and with all the requests/demand from the usa consumer i feel they have just done what they could to keep the numbers growing. think of how many times since the release event that amazon, gamestop and other consumer have put a stop to pre orders all together. heck even their own stores have put a hault to pre orders.

things like day one editions are just a screen print and a digital achievment to give you something to feel special about.
gamestop alone has 4,434 located in the United States.. the first allotment was 16 day one consoles at smaller stores and possibly 20-30 at bigger markets. which were all sold out within the first week iirc. that does not include the online pre order option. they have closed and opened xbox1 pre orders 4 times iirc.
now add walmart, amazon, microsoft online and stores, best buy, kmart hh greg and the list goes on.

take this with a grain of salt but a gamestop dm said some stores had 150-200 consoles avaliable. in large markets. and some stores in europe/london have had similar numbers.. this would be stores in nyc, atl, miami, ect ect.. large markets.

No one knows for sure how well pre-orders for the console, or PS4 are doing as neither company will say – but Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said last week during a call to investors pre-orders were “two times” that of the previous generation.

Xbox One and PS4 are out this holiday season.

I was betting that the PS4 would launch before Christmas but after Thanksgiving, so it looks like I lost that bet.

I'm still on for my bet that the XBox One will launch pre-Thanksgiving though. Every year there seems to be a major Black Friday Xbox deal, so I was anticipating the same sort of promotion for the One.

@wowtgp That sucks, though I know most of Europe is there with you.

They have been doing well. All the nay-sayers have no official ground to go on. They are just speculating when they say they arent selling well or their pre-orders are low. They have no clue what so ever lol.

I think this is the reason why they still haven't stated a release date yet. Think it was smart to keep quiet and see what Sony would say first since Sony got locked into stating the release date for the PS4 (via confirmation before gamescom).

So yeah, it's definitely possible for the Xbox One to come out first. Coming out on the same day as Call of Duty (Nov. 5th) would be insane -- would cause for a TON of buzz.

It would for sure cause a crap load of buzz, especially since ts CoD :D

I think November 5th as well.

I also think you wont be able to buy the console before xmas unless you pre-order right now.

I think maybe just MAYBE there will be a RARE chance that some people may be able to get one by the chace that some people wont pay for theirs or not have the money to fulfill there reserve. I seen it before when I worked at gamestop back int he day lol

I like how MIcrosoft is not showing their hand until as late as possible. Surely, it's to make sure they don't give Sony any wiggle room to change up their date. I just HOPE they launch before Black Friday in the US. Even if the shelves are bare of consoles, the games will still be available.

I think it's a given this thing will be out for Black Friday. I just wonder if they are quietly ramping up production and are going to give the release date at PAX Prime. I wonder how much also is based on conversations with publishers about their launch dates for their games to make sure the console is available for all launch titles.
