Xbox One xb1 could get directx12

Awesome then. This is going to be great for PC, consoles and other stuff.... but only when holiday 2015 comes to our world. Well, it's gonna be quite a wait.

2015 is still a blink away. It might take a while but it will be awesome once it's out.

That would be absolutely amazing. It's crazy that consoles have come this far this fast. We'd be in disbelief only 8 years ago if we had heard that direct x 12 would be implemented into a future xbox. I feel consoles are a great bargain because if you consider the hardware in them, they should be more expensive when comparing it to a desktop.

consoles are great for a general gaming aspect imo..
the tech is usually pushed over a 8-10year life cycle.. no required hardware, ram, processor power is required..
the games tend to be fair across all 3 platforms... and play like the pc but with a slightly reduced graphic..

honestly i am ok with the graphic of my xb1.. i know i have years left on my xb1 and i will get 99% of the big aaa games as the pc gets.. and i will never have to worry about if its capable of playing the game efficiently.
heck even with twitch i dont need a capture card and all that jazz..

but back on topic.. the directx12 is a nice idea in its infancy..its going to be the go to for the next decade so it is just fitting to get it on console as soon as possible

Yeah men, you're right. How times have changed in the world of technology... well, that's how it is. ;-D And i'm happy for it.

Maybe this would push more devs to use it, since consoles seem to be the main market anyway. This could be good for PC gamers.

Yeah.... a blink away. Quite nice right? We're all here, just complaining how long it will be and then suddenly, one blink later and you have the game in your console or PC. i'll remember what you said here, my friend, when I get Direct X12 next year.

This could be good for all consoles and computers. They have to make an upgrade for audio as well.

I'll remember what he said as well. Let's see how this new update will make the console graphics better.

iirc i said it wont be a game changer it may help streamline development but wouldnt give the ability to go 1080... but the facti t allows more triangles could mean grouping them instead of shading may give the illusion of 1080....

i still feel mid way thru the life span microsoft will release one with better ram or a new chip just like they did with 360 which will flood themarket with older xb1(current) and people will upgrade to get the newst thing..

That actually does make some sense. A better Xbox One model with slightly improved hardware and software could be a huge draw a couple or a few years down the road, depending upon how long this generation of consoles last. That would create a big used market for the older model of the One, and then it would bring in some more revenue for Microsoft, too. It's a win-win situation for everyone, although not everyone will be willing to upgrade to a better console if it means putting out $350 to $500 again.

Not really surprised. If they want to be able to make really nice games this is kind of necessary.

Don't get hopes too high for this. Although DX can do wonders but the X1 is still limited by hardware. Even Phil Spencer said it himself that DX12 won't improve is too much. The Witcher 3 dev added that DX12 won't solve 1080p issues on the X1.
