Xbox One Xbox One Cloud Updates May Force Servers to Reboot Mid-Game

Update: Multiple sources are now saying the console will not reboot, but rather the Azure cloud servers. This will only affect applications using the cloud servers at the moment, meaning like Titanfall. The physical machine referred to is the physical server not the console

Disregarding the fact, that the it's the server who will be updated, not the console, i still think that it will affect the XBox's performance. Not in a direct way, of course, but slowing down, or even disabling connection to the server during the update time. Still a rumor and no proof provided, so i sincerely hope all of us are wrong, and all will be fine :)

Server reboots aren't rumors, MSFt confirmed it.

If the server needs it, then i don't find it being a huge fuss.
Devs are working for our satisfaction, and updates are one of their ways to make the product better.
Although there might be performance issues during the procedure, I seriously doubt that it would make that much of a deal.

I totally agree with you.
Updates are essential, so you just have to cope with it.

Not to ruin your expectations, but it was confirmed, that reboots will take place. But they said that it wont affect the game process at all, so no worries

do you have any link that proves your point? I would really appreciate it.

Ugh, this is so annoying. If they know this update is going to happen, at least initiate some sort of warning. Or post an update that some servers are going to be down. I hope this doesn't kill my gameplay. So frustrated that they just didn't bother to find a solution for this at all.

Only affects apps and/or games running solely off the cloud.

Without warning? That would make no sense, would you not have to accept any new terms and conditions that the updates may entail? Not just that, but why wouldn't they just add a very simple warning message, do you want to restart system now for updates.

If that is the case and it will reboot without warning after a cloud update, I would say that the easiest fix would be for them to give a menu option where you would be able to turn off auto updates, that would be logical.
