Xbox One Xbox One Downloadable Games Offer 1,000 Gamerscore

It's been revealed that digital-only titles on Xbox One will offer 1,000 Gamerscore, compared with the 400G cap that exists on Xbox 360.

The achievement list for Halo: Spartan Assault has been posted on Halo Waypoint, showing that the download-only title will offer a full 1,000G on Xbox One, while the Xbox 360 version sticks to the 400G cap for Arcade titles.What with Popcap also mentioning on Twitter that the download-only Peggle 2 will offer 1,000G on Xbox One, it seems that the 400G digital-only cap is a thing of the past.

Seeing as there's no Xbox Live Arcade brand for the next-gen machine, it marks the ideal time for Microsoft to make such a change.

Awesome! This is great especially since i'm sure to pick up a few downloadable titles close to launch. This is something that I personally think is long overdue and should have been implemented on the 360 a long while back. Ah well, better late than never!

Is it sad that I want to get ryse and bf4 on top of my other preorders lol... Add in zoo tycoon as well... I really like hard copies so I can share with my friends but since my friends are getting same game the download digital version of ryse and bf4 seem logical at this point..


Now I am new to the whole Xbox live experience what does a gamerscore give you?

Realistically nothing more than bragging rights like Trophies on the PS. Although now we have Xbox Live rewards so you get small amounts of Live currency for adding a certain amount of gamerscore monthly. Also we've seen that during promotional giveaways, gamerscore has been a qualifying factor.

Awesome new. Considering where I live, it may be hard to get a physical copy of popular games anytime soon, and importing would cost way too much. So I'm pretty sure that I will be downloading most of my games digitally like I do with my 3DS.
 
Will GS actually offer anything new this time? It'd be nice to see it being used as more than just a glorified achievement system. As far as I know there hasn't been a single valid use for GS points (giveaways and 2% rebates, yeah right), something actually useful like being able to convert it to cash or buy DLC with it or something would be nice for a change. Even some cosmetic rewards.

These sure are great news. Curious how the servers will cope with such an increase, but still hope for the best.

How great! I wish to be able to get some of those before the the console, so i could most definitely try them out as fast as possible
 
The Gamescore is the thing i was most waiting for! yes! it's happening!
 
Well, it's about time, seeing how Sony already got to put platinum trophies on their digital titles too, can't remember when they started doing that, but it was definitely this year. Gives a little more incentive for players to keep going.
 
That is a great incentive for those downloading their games. It gives a reason to keep doing so. I will probably download a couple of titles, not many though.
 
It's digital only games that offer the 1000G? So games like BF4 and Ghosts which are digital by choice won't get that much?

I never knew about the XBL Rewards! I never check my XBL email lol. That is going to give me incentive to play the campaigns now
 
Now this is awesome. It gives us the incentive to buy digital games then eh? Nice way to let Microsoft know that us gamers want more of those caps. This is definitely gonna show more love for the digital games that keep on coming. Sony's not the only one getting it, so Microsoft finally shows they've been listening.
 
Oh I was confused for a bit, I thought this meant that you would get a free game for every 1000g lol. I guess it's still nice though, I agree, it's a good incentive for buying digital games.

Well, Microsoft has more strict rules when it comes to the achievements. Sony seems to let the developers do whatever they want with their trophies.
 
I wish they could add Fable to it. But either way this is a good move from Microsoft. I hope they could add more digital games as early as the 1st quarter of next year. Looking forward to the changes. I'll work my way into getting Spartan Assault. Though it would be nice if they could release more games before the end of the year.
