IGN and various other news sites are reporting the following:

Xbox One may be launching later than expected. According to section 12 of the rules of Mountain Dew/Doritos' Every 2 Minutes Xbox One contest, Microsoft's new console has a “targeted launch date of late November 2013.”

While the language in the rules here is by no means official, it's worth noting that the Every 2 Minutes contest is being held in partnership with Microsoft and has even been promoted by Xbox Live's Major Nelson.

If "late November" is correct, this means Xbox One would likely launch after the November 15th release of PlayStation 4 and later than the widely-expected November 5th release date.

To be honest at this point they could spew out any date from their depths of various sources and spew out an article on it.

I'll only believe it once Microsoft announced it on their own. Right now there are rumours of it releasing on 8th November to 29th November.

True, but I saw the Doritos fine print myself so although unconfirmed it would be difficult to explain. I doubt they would ever release after black friday. Its suicide
 
I was thinking about this very thing today at work. Microsoft will never confirm nor deny rumors and this is the third date I've heard about in the last month. Since the only date I HAVEN'T heard as speculation being the PS 4's release date, I'm assuming one of the other three are correct. Because of math lol.

But even Peter Moore (from EA) has said in an interview that Microsoft needs to "cough up" the actual date soon. And I'm aware Peter Moore spmetimes speaks before his brain can tell him to shut up, but I agree with him on this one. With only two months left until a potential release, the actual day may do well for last minute pre-orders (should they become available). And I keep thinking every time a game date isn't announced, then comes out later then thought, it's usually not a good sign.

Just my thought, but they need some goodwill from the gaming community right about now. After all the initial things promised, then changed, letting us know everything's fine and here's when we can get our hands on it would be helpful.
 
EA is getting seek of this hide and seek game and has said that they should cough up the release date soon. We thought that they are going to announce the date on PAX Prime, but we were wrong.
 
I'm appreciative that the launch is two months away, but I for one, would really like a firm date and not a 'time frame'.

Not upset or anything of that nature, just super IMPATIENT for such an awesome update to a platform I've grown to really enjoy.
 
I would like a concrete date as well. I think Microsoft is really debating amongst themselves on the date but I think the easy and obvious answer is a release earlier than the PS4. Microsoft needs the extra week or so. Late November, I feel, doesn't make much sense.

Thats how I feel. I also think they should just concentrate on making it earlier. There ia a 2 week window they have to work with before the PS4. OR....some crazy stuff might happen and we get both on the 15th. HOLY CRAP! That would be insanity.

I just hope hope that the reason for delaying the date announcement is not due to manufacturing troubles. Maybe they're afraid if they launch early they wont meet anywhere close to demand or will have to rush production leading to faulty units.
 
ive seen dates rumored from nov 1- the last.. its still in the air.. i think microsoft is holding out giving the date to keep the sir in the air. once people know when its comming out they will stop looking up info till its right at that time.

i had posted a xbox one release date rumor of last day of october/first day of november when gamestop sent me a xbox one game confirm pick up.
i have also seen rumors of the 8th-15...

seen people talk about since microsoft said late november to expect last week release.

i still think its a mid november date. it makes sense from my eyes. and like allot of people have said cod is huge and releasing with it would be a smart move for them but a crappy one for consumers and stores.. gamestop would be an absolute wreck. last cod launch i went to i walked away teir was no way i was waiting in that line. now bl2 i stayed for. off i felt so out of place.
 
Now could they release it on the 15th also? I mean Sony doesnt own that date or anything. I mean then Sony kind of promoted the X1 release date oalso. Ya know?

Ahhhh see I didnt know they ann. the date in Sept. for 360 also. Ur right they could here in a few days or maybe a week.

guess i am glad i am not a typical gamer lol. id love a smart ass ps4 kid to say something at gamestop to me. i think the managers would die laughing

lol yeah would be funny to see. This is my 1st year skipping th elines. Went staright to the diliverary this time. I will miss those days though. Was fun waiting in line for hours.
