Well, well, looks like Xbox One had a great launch like the PS4: it's sold a million consoles in 24 hours worldwide.

According to Xbox.com:

Xbox One is now sold out at most retailers. We are working to replenish stock as fast as possible to meet the unprecedented demand from our customers.

Gamers couldn’t wait to play Xbox One and check out new games like “Forza Motorsport 5,” “Dead Rising 3,” and “Killer Instinct.” In the last 24 hours:

Over 60 million zombies have been killed in “Dead Rising 3”
Over 3.6 million miles driven in “Forza Motorsport 5"
Over 7.1 million combos in “Killer Instinct”
Over 8.5 million enemies defeated in “Ryse: Son of Rome”

And, fans also found time for some exercise, with over 43.3 million Fit Points earned in Xbox Fitness.

This is actually great news. Remember how the PS3 and Xbox 360 had less-than-stellar launches in their debut? Now, with the PS4 and Xbox One out, it's a sign of awesome things to come now that we know over a million gamers have decided to buy a next-gen console. Sure, there's Apple, Samsung and other companies taking the gaming market bit by bit but if this news is any indication, it means that there are still gamers out there who wants to sit on their couch and take down zombies with glee ;) It

So what do you guys think? Is a million-sold Xbox One good news to you?

One Million xbox ones sold in the first 24 hours

Microsoft and Sony are off to a very good start for Microsoft has sold over a million xbox one consoles in the first 24 hours matching the success Sony had with the PS4 during its first 24 hours. However I assume that come next Friday the 29th of November I expect Sony to sell another million PS4 consoles. I was surprise to read that over a million xbox one consoles have been sold due to all of the negative news that has been on the internet.

Nice, they are really taking to the floor right. I don't know about you guys but the functionality of the systems is incredible for what it can do.

Wow! This is very, very good news. The start-off for the rest of the next-gen has really upped the good vibes. I thought the game consoles would start off like its predecessors, but look at that! Despite the price of $499, Xbox One still managed to make a sale of 1 million consoles. Nice! There's value in it.

Yeah! This is all good news. But yeah, I'm also expecting that PS4 can sell an additional million. The first million they made was USA, so with the rest of the world, it may just go up to 2 million or even 3 million, as Jack Tretton estimated they'd sell by the end of the year. We'll see. But still, both next-gen consoles are hitting it nicely. It's really a great time to be a gamer! Woohoo!

I second that as well. Both systems are finally making great functions that give gamers something that are not only good for the games but also for the other stuff, like recording clips, social integration and more. This is also a great time for gamers who want to share to the world their journey into gaming! Yup, the functionality is awesome. Looking forward to see more of what these bad boys can do.

I totally agree with you guys. Both systems are making great progress with this innovation. I am looking forward to seeing these consoles have more developed games. Hopefully it would also integrate online games such as "Guild wars, World of WarCraft or even Final Fantasy online".

Whoo! This is something that would be totally next-gen. Integrating with the popular MMOs is going to make all gamers in the world go crazy! And yes, more developed games should be in order as well. We're going to be rocking and rolling this next-gen!

Next generation games is something to look out for, judging from the sales success of both consoles I guess PS4 and XBOX One will sell a million more next week. I hope they really add MMORPG games to it. It's something that players would want. Since Xbox One is connected via internet this would be a great move.

Oh yes, of course. PS4 is already beginning the move on having more MMORPGs, starting with Final Fantasy XIV. I'm curious on what MMORPGs Xbox One is striving to get. Maybe they'll snag Elder Scrolls Online? Oh, that game is truly Elder Scrolls but with other people. For Xbox One to get that is going to be next-gen indeed.

I hope they do snag Elder Scrolls Online as well as other MMORPG games like maybe a copy of Final Fantasy. Well, there's still a lot of time to work on that. I'm sure both Sony and Microsoft are looking into it. This would be great for us gamers to have games like that. This would definitely make me leave my computer and stick with the console instead.

Oh yes, it might make us stick with the couch than the computer chair. Ah, the next-gen is definitely starting to look good! Sony and Microsoft are really striving to give us the opportunity to be friends with our good ol' HDTVs. Sure, Steam's catching up with the option of streaming PC games to the TV, but Sony and Microsoft have made it convenient for us gamers to connect and play. Oh yeah!

I hope that the next Xbox release would be even better than this. Like adding a virtual reality online game wherein you just have to wear your headset and sleep and you're on the game (Wishful thinking - Saw an anime similar to it: Sword Art Online). But that only be possible in the future. Well time sure flies fast so we may not know that someone might be on to it already.

I agree it would be nice just to sit back and relax in your couch rather than sitting infront of the computer (which really strains my back). Dom0411 your wishful thinking might come true in the future. It would be nice playing on a virtual reality game while sleeping. That way you can rest and enjoy at the same time.

Great idea. I wish that the technology was this advance, but that would be a hassle wouldn't it? If that was applied then there won't be any room for other consoles to compete. Either way, setting the future aside. Let's stick to what we have currently. Xbox One - What can I say? This is the best product that Microsoft has ever released. I am looking forward to having my very own console.

I just hope we're not screwed over by some wacko CEO in the said anime, where we actually die in the game XD Better be prepared if the SOA situation comes to mind. But yeah, that's going to be something that is truly next-next-gen. We'll see how that goes. But until then, let's enjoy the CURRENT-GEN.

I really hope that doesn't happen. Well we still have a lot of years to go before they even develop that. But yeah, let's enjoy the current technology and we'll see how it goes in the next next generation.

I know right? Plus, we'll actually see the girls in the virtual world turn into their real selves. So don't go falling in love with girl characters... they might actually be nerds XD Not my thing, not my thing. Well, the next-gen is current-gen! We'll see what the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U have in store for all of us. But until I get one or two or all of them, I'll enjoy the still-living previous-generation of PS3 :P

These numbers are staggering. What shocks me is how these people pay for it. I like how the news likes to talk about people living below poverty line, but they can whip up some Xbox One money. lol I just wish people would be a little smarter with their money. I love gaming, but sometimes I feel like I don't want to be a part of the consumerism machine. I just want to shoot things in GTA though. =P

I guess Xbox one will be cheaper in probably 3 months time. Either way, in my opinion, it's worth the money. Though it's new, this may still have some defects but Microsoft will improve it gradually. So Once it's stable, I might buy one. Either way I love the games that they chose (Especially Fable and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare)

Yup, I agree with you there. I'm surprised Xbox One made a million, even on that price. I thought they were gonna sell less but I guess price wasn't going to stop the early adopters to go for it. There's value in it. We'll see how everything goes as the months go by. Let's really hope the defects get fixes so we ourselves don't end up with the defective ones.
