Xbox One Xbox One Sells a Million in less than 24 Hours

I guess Xbox one will be cheaper in probably 3 months time. Either way, in my opinion, it's worth the money. Though it's new, this may still have some defects but Microsoft will improve it gradually. So Once it's stable, I might buy one. Either way I love the games that they chose (Especially Fable and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare)

I gotta agree with you on Plants Vs. Zombies. That one just blew my mind. I didn't expect they'd turn PVZ into a 3D team match-like shooter of a game. And you get to play as the zombies from the start! Woohoo! This is going to be a very interesting generation.

I'm surprised they only sold 1 million in that time. I expected it to be much more, especially with a near christmas release.

I guess the future buyers don't want to buy one right away unless it's 100% glitch free (Please don't quote me on that). Either way, I think Xbox One will sell more the coming weeks since it's near Christmas. By the way I heard that Wallmart has cheaper prices now (Games, not sure about the console though)

Probably true, but it's difficult selling a slew of game systems after the initial purchases if there are two new game systems released at the same time. The early adopters will already know what game system they want (fanboys). Subsequent purchases after launch day will either be parents getting gifts for their children or folks using Christmas money. Next year will be the telltale sign as to true number of systems being purchased. The games most of us are waiting for will begin to be released and the folks playing the "wait-and-see" game will then begin making their decision on the system(s) of choice. Trust me, a million systems is a VERY good starting point.

That's an amazing amount really, way better than the 360 did and almost doubled in the last months as it was closer to 525k before.

Very true. The 360 didn't have great sales until closer to the holidays.

Great, now all consoles have sold really good!
Will people be able to shut up and enjoy their consoles without complaining against the others?

spoilers: no

Wow, that is over 600 million bucks that X-Box alone, made. I am in the wrong business. Other than that, I am not too surprised. They have a good product and good products sell.

I am curious to see where the future of Gaming is taking us. I wonder what it will be like when I'm 35 and then I wonder what it will be like when I'm 40.

Only thing I don't like about X-Box is how they regulate so much crap and want to charge you a lot for everything extra, like the online playing and all that. It's expensive enough just buying one but then you have to blow even more money in order to enjoy it to its full potential.

That is a really great feat for Microsoft. Considering how people have been comparing the Playstation to the Xbox One. I can't wait to see what sales Playstation produces, and what they have already produced.

Microsoft mentioned that initial sales were exceeding the 1 million mark. They're not yet telling the whole story. We'll see what their sales will be when December hits. I've also read somewhere about Gamestop almost revealing a hint on the actual sales but not sure if that's true or not. We'll just see for ourselves when the month ends.

And this just the first day. Imagine the sales it's going to get on Christmas. I'm guessing most people are just waiting for more games and for Microsoft to fix most of the problems the X1 has had.

Woohoo! The Xbox One made it! At least we know the next-gen started off nicely with a bang. We haven't even gone through Christmas yet, so this figure could go higher and higher. Lookin' forward to how many more Xbox Ones will be sold.

Is anyone really surprised by this?

I don't think anyone should be surprised. Nothing against Microsoft or the Xbox One it's just that 1. the Xbox One is $500 which gives me a bit of a pause, but I hear that their coming out with a less expensive model so I'm excited for that. And 2. a lot of people wait until the next batch of consoles comes out to fix the launch problems. They'll definitely sell a lot more during the holiday season and when maybe a Kinect free model comes out.

Um I think you're confused. The news here is not that they didn't sell enough, its that they sold just as much as the PS4 and just as fast.

I agree with silvananoir. The Xbox was released in more regions if we're talking winners, the PS4 won the early battle and we'll see if they win the war. As for the holiday season that'll be the test for both consoles because the PS4 will be out in more areas though I'm thinking parents will be more inclined to buy the PS4 simply because of the price. That being said, I want the Xbox One to succeed, 3 consoles are better than 2.

Microsoft and Sony are off to a very good start for Microsoft has sold over a million xbox one consoles in the first 24 hours matching the success Sony had with the PS4 during its first 24 hours. However I assume that come next Friday the 29th of November I expect Sony to sell another million PS4 consoles. I was surprise to read that over a million xbox one consoles have been sold due to all of the negative news that has been on the internet.

That's because all the negative press is chaff. This is a great console with a humongous marketing campaign behind it; of course it's going to be a commercial juggernaut. I'm not surprised at all.

I don't think anyone should be surprised that the Xbox One did well. The Xbox line of consoles is popular and has it's fans. It had a great marketing campaign behind it, when did you not see a commercial for the Xbox One on TV? It was on the news several times before launch, so it's expected that it did well.

Oh yeah, I heard that the Xbox One dominated Black Friday. It went to no.1, while the 360 went to no.2. PS4 was no.3 and PS3 was no. 4. But keep in mind that the PS4 was running out of stock at the time, while the Xbox One was in stock. Yup, goes to show Microsoft was well prepped. They knew it was coming.

That argument is moot. EA h console sold their launch allotments of 1 million units. The location makes no difference.
