Xbox One turns on faster than TV in stand-by mode

Just read an article on IGN about how fast each system (PS4 vs XB1) turns on. Apparently, the PS4 takes about 30 secs to turn on vs 17 secs (11 in low-power mode). That is definitely a sizable difference.

Still not fast enough for my anticipation lol

Well one thing’s for sure, it’ll definitely take care of people with an inane instant gratification for speed and anything without having to wait too long. I’m a victim for that occasionally, and I look forward into seeing more subtle features for this and the other consoles.

I guess it’s the little things that count now for next gen, but that might be an understatement for some though. :o

You are not alone in that my friend lol

LOL! If I were getting a PS4 and an XB1, I'd probably be singing the "Anticipation" song while waiting for the PS4 to boot up. XB1, I'd blink and I'd miss the startup screen... Sweet!

Well I suppose that is pretty cool, I guess? I am honestly not sure how to respond to this simply because I do not think it really matters I mean 30, 17 and 11 seconds are all quite short so I can not say I see an understandable difference in it; as long as it does not take more than 5 minutes to start up I am just fine.

I'm personally not exactly interested in this feature, but its still pretty good to know. Even if I plan to use my Xbox One mostly for games, it may be nice to hook it up to my cable when I have guests over and we decide to watch a movie or something :p

That sounds nice.
Using all that hardware power for our own good.
But, since its that fast, won't overheating be an issue?

Honestly, i don't think so. Engineers, i am sure, have figured something out. Good cooling system, quality hardware - It's not like they would miss the overheating issue, since its quite a deal for most people - no one likes their xbox hot as a stove lol. But, we just have to wait and see.

Although such things as turning on\off, menu speed and other second-importance-level stuff does not matter so much to most people, this is definitely an eye candy for every user. Perfect timing, perfect response, perfect FPS - these are all the things to expect in a week time :P

Yep. There was a vid somewhere here, where Major powered up the X1 in like a couple of secs after saying "XBox - on" Looked like future to me definitely

Am I the only one who doesn't really care if the Xbox can turn on quicker than the TV or not? I mean, you can't use it until the TV comes on!! LOL Seriously though, I do like the background updating concept.

My PC boots faster than my monitor from a cold boot. Consoles need to catch up.

how good/bad is thestart up from a dead start compared to a flat screen tv?
i dont really keep my system in standby and i dont really care about start up times. only time thing i care about it load screen. now if it takes 20 minutes to get runnng from cold its a problem.

I totally agree. That is a problem.
