Xbox One Xbox One will support up to eight controllers at once

Couldn't multiple players use the same controllers? I mean, if you're not planning on doing split-screen, what's the point of everyone having their own controller? It seems like it'd be much easier to just switch off controllers if you're not doing any sort of split-screen or LAN.

On sports games you could have all 8 players going at once, much like 2k on PS3

Wow, 8 people at once. I don't think I've ever had that many people playing at once, but it would be feasible if the game had the option I suppose. It makes me think of my Wii, which is my usual game system when company wants to play. Everybody wants to play Guitar Hero at once. That is what makes me think that it may be nice to have the feature, even if it never gets used..
