Eager to show to the world how awesome you are in slaying down the zombies in Dead Rising 3 via Twitch? Well, you can't. At least, not now.

It has been reported by Microsoft that the Twitch broadcasting, which has been supported by PS4 since launch, will not be available at launch. Well, launch is over, so there's no Twitch function at the moment. But Microsoft said they'll add it eventually in a future patch.

Venture Beat comments about this:

This is a bit of a blow for Microsoft. Currently, gamers can hop on to Twitch or Ustream and watch dozens of people streaming PlayStation 4 titles. That’s free advertising for Sony, and it also makes gamers feel like a star. For some, it’s already a must-have feature

Yeah, it does suck there won't be broadcasting for Xbox One gamers at the moment. But on the other hand, you can record gameplay clips via the SkyDrive and upload them online, so there's a plus there. All you really have to do is just wait for the Twitch to come. Until then, record and upload the clips.

Are you sad there won't be a Twitch function at the moment? Or are you willing to wait, 'cuz you know there's a record and upload function already?

This is pretty strange considering Microsoft announced streaming first and PS4 has it at launch. I think this better be a priority for the Xbox, these are the kinds of feature people were looking forward too and I can tell you it is very popular on the PS4.

Wow. I remember Microsoft once said there was going to be Twitch feature back in E3. They even showed it while demoing the Killer Instinct. I wonder why? First, they couldn't get 1080p with Ghosts, and now this? Guess they got some other priorities to deal with before they can get this. I'm not getting an Xbox One yet so maybe by the time I get one, I'll finally get this feature.

I know right? Like the what thedoodseven said, it could be they have other priorities to deal with. But really, this would've been a great feature to have. I was looking forward to see some awesome broadcasts for the games on Xbox One. But we'll see when will this feature be available for everybody. 'Till then, PS4's taking the spotlight.

Well of course they're preoccupied with other things right now. At the moment Microsoft is trying to make sure their staggered launches are completed with the fewest hiccups possible. They are looking over reported issues and making adjustments, as well as trying to satisfy everyone with a working platform. Until that is dealt with incidental things like Twitch are going to go on the backburner.

What the heck is Twitch? Can't be that important if I have not even heard of it.

I did research and I can live without it being fully utilized on the One right now. So many other things to play with!

Seeing how people are abusing the streaming features with the PS4 and The Playroom already, i don't think this is such a good idea now. This just has space to not work and something to go horribly wrong. Am i the only one who is ready to read that someone streams something that they shouldn't?

Twitch is a broadcast service where gamers can livestream their games to others who can play. It's been gaining popularity among gamers as since its debut and the more it gained popularity when Sony and Microsoft announced they were getting the service. Here's the site: http://www.twitch.tv/

Anyway, Microsoft has said they'll get it eventually so PS4 will get the spotlight on this feature in the meantime.

Can't say I care too much about it. I play video games for myself and don't really care for what other people might think.
As long as they release it soon I don't think it's going to be too bad.

Aww man. I saw this one. Yes, there's been reports of some people doing... non-gaming streams of themselves going naked, doing sexual activities, etc. Many of these streams use The Playroom, the game that uses the EyeToy. It's like an AR-like game, where you're interacting with 3D objects. Seems the broadcasters who were doing the crazy streams found a sneaky way to do live cam shows. Yikes.

Better hope Xbox One doesn't have something like this happen, or else, Twitch might get canned for the One.

That really irks me. Twitch was meant to be a broadcast for games... not for the kind of stuff you'd see on those porn sites. What's up with that? Nintendo cans the Swapnote service and now this? Twitch better find a way to prevent or at least ban those sneaky broadcasters so the more legit broadcasters have a chance to broadcast more.

While this is really disappointing especially since Sony has it, the Sky box feature is amazing and a good trade off for the time being. At least we will get twitch broadcasting eventually

I love Twitch personally and do have particular streams that I enjoy watching like Video Games Awesome, but I'm bummed that the Xbox One doesn't have the service yet. But this could be a good thing for Microsoft simply because all the problems that both Twitch and Sony are having with people streaming things that are getting them banned, like that guy who stripped his wife live. Seriously people this is why we can't have nice things.

Yeah, at least you can record videos. You know, I always forget that recording gameplay has been at launch for both the consoles. But Xbox One's gameplay recording is a bit better since you can share straight away to anywhere, like Youtube while PS4 lets you share it only to Facebook and to people within the PSN. That's why one of the forum users here did his teaser trailer for RYSE and I'm amazed SkyDrive is really versatile. Yup, more recorded gameplay for Xbox One!

I'm guessing because its still in preview/beta.. we don't have the full experience yet. Is the delay that long that it matters?

Wait, but there is a Microsoft channel streaming from an XB1 if you go twitch.tv...

Then it's probably that Microsoft themselves have the streaming on their XB1. But everybody else doesn't have it yet. Maybe they're still working out the kinks in making sure it works well for all XB1 users.
