Knocking the price down some would really make the X1 more appealing. I don't particularly care if it sticks in the game stores' craw. Their trade policies have done that to me for years lol
So what's the latest news on this? Is it confirmed that Microsoft will indeed lower digital games prices? Seems to have gone cold, the news I mean. I hope it's going to happen so that I can at least have more options and consider getting the digital copy of games sometimes.
You never bought anything on XBLA???I honestly have never bought a game on a console digitally. Better prices would change that!
You're right, they should consider this and apply the changes as soon as possible.
Microsoft has announced it is exploring cheaper Xbox One digital game prices, starting with Ryse: Son of Rome.
The company announced earlier today that the gladiatorial game will be getting a discount in the run up to the release of new DLC, but studio manager Mike Ybarra has since clarified this is also being done in response to fan requests for less expensive titles.
From February 18 until February 24, the Games on Demand version of Ryse: Son of Rome will be available for $39.99 / £34.99, with more discounts planned for add-ons every day between February 25 and February 27, ahead of the release of the Mars' Chosen Pack DLC on February 28.
Well this is certainly good news for all and combined with the sales on games the 360 that are currently ongoing, it definitely seems like MSFT is definitely on the right track for once. IF they believe the future of gaming truly is digital then they will need a more "Steam-esque" mentality when it comes to pricing.
