I'm a woman and I never once thought of any game console, ever as being just for men. I don't even think of any games as just being for men. I have all the Halos and all the Mass Effects. I got my original Xbox in 2003 and the first game I had for it was Prince of Persia, The Sands of Time which I think either gender would enjoy. There are a variety of games for Xbox and Xbox 360 that women would like.
This is the first time I've heard the Xbox called a male-oriented console or a console for boys. I love both of my Microsoft consoles. Consoles are not gender specific. If you don't like shooters, the Xbox has RPG's, cute Japanese games like Beautiful Katamari, and even fantasy games like Dreamfall. I don't even notice the gender gap. I'm an avid gamer and I've never thought "I'm a woman, this console/game is not for me." I love video games, period.
