Xbox One Thoughts on PS4 selling 4.2 million VS Xbox One selling 3 million

So what are your thoughts on the news that PS4 sold more than Xbox One by the end of 2013?
My thoughts: Sony did what they needed to do and they succeeded. I'm thinking maybe Microsoft still has some things to work on if they want to sell some more. But that's quite a big gap. Anyway, it doesn't stop me from wanting an Xbox One.
 
I think it's good news that the Playstation is giving Xbox a run for its money. Competition is always good for us, the consumers. Seeing that the PS4 is doing so good, Xbox won't be able to slack off and we might get more exclusive games and deals. Actually, Xbox ain't doing too bad, it's sold 3.2 million so far.
 
There was never a doubt in my mind that Sony was going to do better simply because they have a better lock on Europe and the PS4 is less expensive. I'm sure it also has to do with exclusives, but price is a big factor here and Sony managed to beat Microsoft this time in the same way that the lower cost of the 360 initially beat the PS3. We'll see what happens as the year goes on and the games roll out though.
 
Good for the PS4!
The console was $100 less and released to more markets.
I'm just glad with this generation doesn't have a definitve winner which hopefully make them want to change that !
 
I'm honestly really glad its so close! Last generation the Xbox 360 destroyed the PS3 at launch initially and competition is good for both owners of consoles, lower prices, better features/services and more quality games hopefully!
 
The consoles are selling well, that's the good news. Whether PlayStation is ahead or not, it doesn't effect us on Xbox One. If the Xbox One or PS4 sold like the Wii U did originally, then there'd be a problem. xD
 
The response here is quite surprising honestly lol. By the way, Sony is currently doing best this gen even beating the Wii U which had a one year headstart but how does the Xbox One fair with the Wii U? I want to know that Xbox One isn't the most lacking this generation.

Hahaha. Wow man, you really are the first one to say that. Yes, can't we all get along? I want that. At least we can get along just fine. This new generation is getting better and more surprising than I thought.

Wahahahahahaha. Well, I'm one of the few that wants a Wii U but yeah, sometimes, it's hard to be positive with the Wii U. Nintendo might have some plans but I;'ll have to admit, it is suffering. Nintendo better have something up their sleeve or it might end up being this generation's Dreamcast.

Same here about the Wii U. But I know Nintendo can do something. They've always had a lot of rough roads to get through but in the end, they made it. Well, with the Wii U, they just need to do something that can get them through. I don't expect them to sell more than the best-sellers PS4 and Xbox One but at least they can do something. I have faith in them.

Back on topic: Yeah, PS4 did really well. But Xbox One sure isn't showing any withdrawal. We'll see in the months who will stand tall.
 
Haha, Nintendo might end up like what happened to DreamCast, but I hope not. I do like nintendo since for a long time I had some of their console games. But yeah, I agree, if they don't do anything to remedy this they might end up losing a lot.

That's what worries me. I wish it didn't have to be the next Dreamcast. I just wish. I mean, Wii U has some good games right? I just hope it can recover in some way. I just hope.

They have plans of releasing some new games this year so I guess they can recover.

Interesting question... One I've been dying to comment on. First, I applaud Sony for selling as many systems as they have. They have a quality gaming system and demand is definitely there. That said, I do have to say, considering they came out a week before the XB1 and their price is 100.00 cheaper than the XB1, I'm kinda surprised everyone is going nuts over them having such a gap. For some, it isn't about brand loyalty. Folks with both the PS3 and 360 who want to jump to the "next generation" may find the PS4 a better starting system for the price difference alone. Should MS have bundled Kinect with the XB1 is debatable but it happened. Personally, I think both systems are doing wonderfully. Look at how the PS3 is selling next to the 360. Most articles prior to the new systems release was stating the 360 was outselling the PS3. Did this mean Sony wasn't doing well? No. In time, these numbers won't even matter. It's about the games... If MS can deliver quality "next generation" games, who cares what system is selling more. I am loving the competition!

Yup, it's all in the games. Install base, fine, but the games... well, that's where it's all gonna matter. You're right. Whenever we look at the best-of-games articles, you can see the games that DEFINED the system. Well, let's see what Xbox One can give to us. I want to play the game that makes me go, "This IS what makes the Xbox One!"
 
ps4 is in more markets,released before xbox...

we all know ps is an asia market thing.. its going to take that.. but xbox still has quite a bit of territory its not in and ps4 is.. its still what 6 months in.. we need a solid 2 years to see where things stand. but at this point both have sold well.

i have read a few tech articles with ps4 and a few games being unstable and actually having more issues than xb1.. mainly bf4.. but the finger for bad is always pointed at xbox first..
